Rebranding and bespoke membership management for national arts body
Combining disciplines across design and development, Stage Directors UK required a full rebrand and redesign of their website, but also a bespoke membership management system to tie into their payment gateways, offline databases, and administrative tools.
Creating a new image
SDUK were concerned that their previous brand had no character and wasn’t particularly professional. That being said, they wanted to distance themselves from clichéd images of the stage such as lights and curtains. They settled on a lettermark that retained some alignment with their previous branding, but brought in ideas of community, unity and collaboration to the organisation.
A portal for members
Their previous website did not achieve their goals of being easy to navigate, attractive or easy on the eye, and generally felt uninspiring. The UX was clunky, and members often have to work to find the resources for which they’re looking.
The new site has had a complete overhaul of its structure and sitemap, and has had integrations performed with GoCardless, SDUK’s payment partner. These payments can all be managed, edited and cancelled from the site’s CMS, and the organisation’s nearly 1000 members can be contacted, have their statuses changed, their activity analysed, and resources assigned to them.
A platform for the organisation
The site also allows SDUK to promote its events and social media output, to run its national campaigns, and to run events. The platform is also used to publish independent research.
